Residents, legislators, and partners gathered to celebrate the Columbia Gardens grand opening on August 29th in Vancouver, WA. The day's itinerary included special guest speakers, lunch, and cake.
One of the guest speakers was a resident, Chrischelle, who shared about her experience with housing instability before moving into Columbia Gardens with her three young children. She was on the hunt for an affordable apartment in a better neighborhood - a difficult task in the growing, urban area surrounding Vancouver.
At Columbia Gardens, Chrischelle finally found what her family needed.
“I couldn’t ask to be anywhere else,” Chrischelle said.
The fully-leased LIHTC community has 42 two-bedroom, 51 three-bedroom, and 30 four-bedroom apartments designed to be affordable for those who make at or less than 60% of the area median income.
